From John Woolman.....

May we look upon our Treasures, and the furniture of our Houses, and the Garments in which we array ourselves, and try whether the seeds of war have any nourishment in these possessions or not.

I love this quote. Do you have a john Woolman book recommendation (because I don't have enough to read this summer, and don't you dare suggest Harry Potter)?

All I have at present is a Pendle Hill-style pamphlet, which is actually the transcript of a lecture called "Mysticism and Activism: Learning from John Woolman". Some interesting comments on the "inner" and "outer" life and their relationship. It's a short, but stimulating read.....

Now tell me truly, don't you really think that JK Rowling has become a better writer with each book?

Re: your last question ... I don't know because I stopped reading them midway through book 3.

I can tell you this... Terry Pratchett's early books weren't as good either.

I'd like to read that pamphlet.
